Case Study: Turning Creativity Into Career Skills - Educating Youth at Kita

About the Project

Kita, a newly launched non-profit by the founders of Hatch, walks alongside under-resourced youth as they claim agency through belonging, expression, and practice.

As part of its Studios programme, Kita runs an industry-level digital marketing course designed to equip young participants with tangible skills, real-world exposure, and confidence to pursue creative and digital careers.

Our Process

The course was built around a practical, high-touch learning experience tailored for learners aged 18–24, most of whom had no prior experience in marketing.

The focus: making the world of digital marketing accessible and empowering.

Over nine weeks, learners were guided through:

  • Social content strategy for TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • SEO/SEM fundamentals

  • Writing for digital platforms

  • Purpose-driven campaign planning

Sessions emphasised campaign thinking, content creation frameworks, and structured tools to build on the creativity participants already brought to the table.

Deliverables

  • Co-created training curriculum

  • Slide decks, worksheets, and templates

  • Guided capstone projects for a real-world client (The Mind Cafe)

  • Final presentations at a Demo Day event

Results

  • 14 learners completed the full programme and presented final campaigns

  • Notable improvements in confidence, teamwork, and communication

  • All participants developed work-ready digital marketing skills

  • Capstone projects included complete campaign plans, messaging strategy, and original content
